The Board of Camp Fire Central Coast of California would like to express our deep appreciation for your passion and dedication to the youth we serve through the many programs Camp Fire offers. Our beloved Council has been greatly impacted by the spread of COVID-19. The impact is not limited to the shelter at home order. The Board spent many hours consulting with national organizations and, after much deliberation, taking into consideration their recommendations as well as that of State and County authorities; made the difficult decision to suspend the operations of Camp Fire Central Coast programs. The programs, activities, and events remain closed until further notice. It saddens us that we cannot give a definitive date for resuming programs.
We recognize that our youth have been working hard to earn their awards. Camp Fire Central Coast will ensure that they get that recognition. However, at this time we cannot give a definitive date. We are hopeful for this celebration to happen in the fall. When the date is announced, leaders can request these awards.
Along with the suspension of programs and events, the Annual Meeting has been postponed. It is the intent of this Board to hold the Annual Meeting in the fall. The date will be determined by the State and County re-entry guidelines for California and San Luis Obispo County.
The Board remains active and committed to the future operation and preservation of Camp Fire programs on the Central Coast. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding while we all navigate and learn how to live in new and different ways.
